What is vaping, what is in ejuice and is vaping safe?
Vaping is a healthier alternative to smoking. A device – known as a mod or e-cigarette – is used with batteries to heat a liquid – known as ejuice – to produce vapor. The vapor is then inhaled and exhaled again.
How Safe Is Vaping?
Authorities and health departments around the world have determined that smoking is at least 95% safer than smoking.
There are still some uncertainties about the safety due to limited research and therefore the 5% still remains. The main uncertainty with vaping is inhaling the food grade flavorings and this is currently being researched.
What Does Ejuice Consist Of?
Ejuices contain the following ingredients:
- Vegetable Glycerine
- Propylene Glycol
- Food grade flavoring
- Nicotine (optional)
The nicotine is optional and some ejuices have very little or no propylene glycol in them.
Is Secondhand Vapor Dangerous?
Secondhand vapor is not dangerous.
The particles in vapor which is exhaled is comparable to that of an empty room and the vapor dissipates very quickly, making it harmless.
Nicotine levels in exhaled vapor is too low to have any effect on another living being.
